Great time for Indian Car Buyers

Hi All!!!!

The Indian car buyer is having a great time. Really…with so many new car models and so many international car manufacturers making a beeline for launching their international models in india, market is truly competitive.

Take Volkswagen for example.  According to the latest news – Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd will launch at least two small cars in the Rs. 5 lakh segment in India in the next three-four years, one of which is likely to be the Up! Concept car that was unveiled recently and the other a model from group company Skoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd. Volkswagen will have products ranging from the luxury Phaeton to the compact car Fabia in India.

Volkswagen AG has invested Rs3,500 crore in India to set up the new plant, which makes it the largest German investment in the country. Meanwhile, the company has finalized plans to build a vendor park for its suppliers in India at its 575-acre campus at Chakan. Volkswagen is looking for a local partner to construct the facility that will allow its vendors to be close to the production facility.

So, the choices an Indian car driver now has are more than ever. Plus they can now drive international quality cars. Even the established indian car manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki are now launching new global models more frequently in india.  Maruti SX4 and Swift are good examples of Maruti’s strategy for indian market. The latest model from Maruti – the Maruti Swift DZire has also wowed buyers with its superlative features offered at affordable prices.

That’s not all; BMW, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and the Land Rover have already entered India through the imported /distributor route while, Lexus, Ferrari and Aston Martin, plan to enter India soon.
