How many remotes do you have?

Hi all and welcome again to the ghost planet again. I will now tell you how technology can be used smartly.

Yesterday I went to my friend’s house for dinner. While sipping tea i saw half a dozen remotes at his coffee table. I believe he is not the only one juggling remotes all day. It has become a necessity now. The remotes we usually use are for TV, AC, DVD Player, Cable Box, X-box, Desktop Audio and few others.

Now there is a way out. I am referring to the Universal Remote. This is not the remote which Adams used in his latest movie click. But this remote alone can control all your home appliances.

This Philips unit uses a mechanical scroll wheel that borrows its concept from the circular touch pad on Apple’s iPod. The scroll wheel turns to navigate among component brands during set-up and to select activities once the unit is configured.

You don’t need to know the model numbers of the various devices to set up the Philips remote; you simply select the brand of the component, and the remote automatically tries a series of configurations until it hits on the right one.

So what are you waiting for? Go and get one.
